The Ethiopia Media Women Association (EMWA) has launched a project titled “Gender Equality in the Workplace.” This four-year (2024 to 2027) project primarily focuses on supporting in the development and implementation of gender policies within media organizations and at the EMWA level.
During the launching event, participants from various media outlets, academia, partners, and stakeholders provided invaluable insights important for the formulation of EMWA’s gender policy and subsequent media gender policies.
Key activities within the project include creating collaboration, networking, and advocacy through both online and in-person platforms, as well as the development and implementation of gender policies. Additionally, EMWA will maintain its Women Experts Directory and host a gender conference as part of this initiative.
The central goal of the project is to address the challenges faced by women media practitioners by transforming relations and social institutions. This project is made possible through financial support from Fojo Media Institute.
Active participation from members is essential for the successful implementation of these objectives and related activities.
